Privacy policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Marsanic Motorsport ("we", "us") collects, uses and protects your personal information when you visit or buy from www.marsanicmotorsport.com.au (the "Site"). We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles.

What we collect

Order information - when you place an order (or start to), we collect your name, email address, phone number, billing and delivery addresses, and details of what you ordered. Payment details are handled by our payment providers (see below) - we never see or store your full card number.

Vehicle details - if you choose to give us your registration and state, VIN, or a vehicle saved in our Search by Vehicle tool, we attach it to your order so we can check that the parts you've ordered suit your car.

Device information - when you browse the Site we automatically collect standard technical data such as your IP address, browser type, time zone, the pages and products you view, and how you arrived at the Site. This is collected through cookies, log files and pixels.

Marketing preferences - if you subscribe to our newsletter or tick a marketing box at checkout, we record that consent.

How we use it

  • To process, check and deliver your orders, take payment and send order confirmations, invoices and tracking.
  • To confirm fitment against your vehicle where you've asked us to.
  • To answer your enquiries and handle returns, warranty claims and complaints.
  • To screen orders for fraud and keep the Site secure.
  • To understand how customers use the Site and improve it.
  • To send you marketing emails and show you relevant advertising, only where you've opted in or the law otherwise allows. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email.

Who we share it with

We only share personal information where it's needed to run the business:

  • Shopify, which hosts the Site and stores your account and order data.
  • Payment providers - Shopify Payments (including Shop Pay and Google Pay), PayPal, Zip and Afterpay - which process your payment under their own privacy policies.
  • Suppliers and distributors who dispatch parts directly to you. They receive only the name, address and contact details needed to deliver your order.
  • Delivery carriers such as Australia Post, StarTrack, DHL and Couriers Please.
  • Email and marketing tools - Omnisend for our emails, and Meta (Facebook/Instagram) advertising tools for measuring and targeting ads.
  • Review services, if you choose to leave a product review.
  • Government agencies, courts or regulators where the law requires it.

We do not sell your personal information. Some of the providers above store data outside Australia (including in the United States, Canada and the European Union); they are bound by their own privacy obligations and our agreements with them.

Cookies and advertising

The Site uses cookies to keep your cart, remember your preferences and measure how the Site is used. Meta's pixel may be used to show you advertising based on your visits. You can manage cookies in your browser settings and opt out of interest-based advertising through your Facebook ad settings (facebook.com/settings/?tab=ads) or at optout.aboutads.info. We don't change how we collect data in response to "Do Not Track" browser signals.

How long we keep it

Order records are kept for at least seven years to meet Australian tax and consumer-law obligations. Marketing data is kept until you unsubscribe. Other data is kept only as long as it's needed for the purposes above.

Your rights

You can ask us at any time to access the personal information we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it where we're not required to keep it. Just email us using the details below and we'll respond within a reasonable time. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, tell us first and we'll do our best to resolve it; you can also complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).

Security

The Site is served over HTTPS and payments are processed by PCI-compliant providers. We take reasonable steps to protect your information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access, but no online service can be guaranteed completely secure.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or the law. The current version is always published on this page.
